Volunteering

The Albert Hall is a not-for-profit, community owned, and volunteer run Theatre in Llandrindod Wells. As a registered charity, the day to day activities at the venue, are managed by a small team of trustees, with additional support from a pool of volunteers.

Front of House Team Members

Join our team as a front of house volunteer at our beloved theatre! As a vital part of our operations, you will greet and direct guests, assist with seating, work behind the bar, sell ice creams and programmes, and ensure a seamless experience for all visitors. Gain valuable experience in customer service and hospitality while being surrounded by the magic of live performances!

Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting and Directing our guests, in a kind and friendly manner
  • Assisting with Seating – advising of the best seats, and directing our guests to them
  • Working behind the bar/in the kiosk, and selling ice creams, snacks, merchandise, and programmes
  • Ensuring a seamless experience for our visitors
  • Adhering to the Health and Safety, and Fire Safety policies, to ensure all visitors are safe
  • Represent The Albert Hall with a kind and polite manner, friendly, and welcoming attitude.

Training: Full training will be provided.

Dress Code: Smart Casual (we will provide a branded gillet for any shifts you work.

Age Requirements: 18+, unless accompanied by a Parent, or Guardian.

Maintenance Day Volunteers

As a historic Victorian building and Edwardian theatre, The Albert Hall requires significant ongoing care and attention. Due to limited funding, we undertake most maintenance work ourselves to keep costs down. We frequently organise maintenance and cleaning days, and we warmly invite anyone interested in volunteering to join us in preserving this cherished venue!

Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning and Dusting
  • Polishing, and Window Cleaning
  • Repairs
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Small construction projects
  • External Cleaning, and Tidying
  • Adhering to the Health and Safety, and Fire Safety policies, to ensure all visitors are safe
  • Represent The Albert Hall with a kind and polite manner, friendly, and welcoming attitude.

Training: Full training will be provided.

Dress Code: Work Clothes / Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Age Requirements: 18+, unless accompanied by a Parent, or Guardian.

Performing

The Albert Hall has it’s own group of performers, ‘The Ah Players’. Established in late 2021, by our Trustees, The Ah Players are a group of amateur performers, who raise much needed funds for the hall, and most of all, have plenty of fun!
